Mental health is as equally important to address as is our physical health. If we sustained a physical injury or developed a condition, obtaining appropriate treatment would allow for effective recovery and remission. Similarly, experiencing mental health symptoms can profoundly influence many aspects in our lives (e.g., functional impairment, emotional distress). Whether you are experiencing symptoms of a condition or struggling with life stressors, treatment can address these concerns and allow for effective and sustained recovery.
As research demonstrates, a validating and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential for healing. Dr. Grigorian utilizes evidence-based practices to address a wide range of symptomatology, cultivate insight and awareness, promote behavioral change, and facilitate individualized growth and well-being dependent on personal goals. Maintaining mental health empowers us to identify how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact our functioning, relationships (both with self and others), interactions, and ability to navigate challenges. In addition, it is shown to have positive outcomes on our physical health, such as cardiovascular disease in relation to stress.
Dr. Grigorian has specialized training and experience in exposure-based treatment for: anxiety disorders (illness anxiety, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia), specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (utilizing exposure and response prevention) and posttraumatic stress disorder, as well as trichotillomania and excoriation.
Sessions are 50 minutes and typically held once a week. Factors that influence time spent in treatment may include the nature and severity of symptoms, willingness to improve, or specific individual goals.
